A gratitude and grounding ritual: returning to yourself
Gratitude does not require denying fatigue or sadness. Combined with grounding, it becomes embodied practice: recognize support, feel the body, and choose one aligned action.

Sign inGratitude without forced positivity
You can acknowledge a difficulty while appreciating a person, resource, or small decision that helps you move through it. This keeps the ritual from becoming a demand to feel happy.
Prepare the space
Choose a steady place. Prepare a candle, a glass of water, and a journal. Put your phone away. The goal is not a perfect scene, but a signal that these minutes belong to you.
The five-part ritual
1. Return to the body. Place your feet on the floor and exhale gently. 2. Name reality. Write one difficulty present today. 3. Recognize support. Note three concrete supports: a person, place, habit, or skill. 4. Make gratitude precise. Replace “thank you for everything” with a specific sentence. 5. Choose one action. Drink water, walk, tidy, reply, or ask for help within fifteen minutes.
Moon and journal
The new Moon can support what you want to nurture, the full Moon what has grown, and the waning Moon what you have released. No phase is mandatory. In your journal, separate fact, feeling, and interpretation to keep discernment present.
When gratitude does not come
Do not invent an emotion. Thank your body for carrying you this far, or close the journal. A respectful practice leaves room for silence.
